Ok first off I'm a complete nOOb with WP so bare with me...;)
I have created some posts and added links to zip files on my server for users to download but I wish only members to be able to see these links, and maybe a short msg telling guests that they must register to download, how can I make this so?

you can use the Wp-downloadmanager by Lester 'GaMerZ' Chan
at http://lesterchan.net/portfolio/programming/php/#wp-downloadmanager
you can set certain files to be downloaded only by registered users and insert any download files to a page/post.

Mmmm..thats not really what i'm after I dont think, but thank you for quick response...I should have said b4 I want the ability to hide any links so like if I was to post a rapidshare / mediafire etc etc link I could also hide that to, not just server links.
Sorry for the misunderstanding...
