I was uploading photos to my Media Library without a problem until yesterday, when I fiddled with god knows what.
Now when I try to upload a photo I get this: “Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/2009/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
I have little idea what I’m doing here, so this question confounds me.
Any ideas what I’ve messed up and how I can un-mess it up??
    Thank you!

  • i have exactly the same problem, Please educate

i have managed to fix it, go into your ftp client and either create a directory called uploads in wp-content or if you already have it just right click and look at the file attributes change all the permissions so it allows you to create sub directories
    Hope this helps

I fixed it by going to Dashboard, Settings, Miscellaneous and removing the slash from in front of /wp-content… I also unchecked the “Organize folders into month and year”. Whatever, I’m now uploading again!
