[resolved] Media Uploader broken and menu hover flyout not showing (14 posts)

Since upgrading to 3.3 our site won't let you use the Media Uploader.

-When you click on Select Files, nothing happens.
-When you click on switch to browser uploader, nothing happens, it goes to a #
-When you click the new consolidated upload icon in a post, nothing happens.
-For some reason the new flyout menus do not show as opposed to other 3.3 sites I have worked on. Can this be related?

I DID go through the steps here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-33-master-list. However, I don't know how to "flush any caching plugins."

-I manually reinstalled WordPress 3.3 from the files
    -I deactivated all plugins
-I switched to the TwentyTen theme

    None of this worked.

Please help asap because uploading media is vital for this website.

And another thing I just found. None of the Help or Screen Option pull down menus on the top right work either.

Is this some kind of javascript error? I already overwrote all files with brand new 3.3 install files.

I knew someone was going to reply with that link. That's why I had it bolded in the original post.

It's almost like some javascripts aren't working. When I go to Updates and check Select All for all the plugins, it doesn't actually select any of them. (I updated all the plugins manually so that is not the issue.)

I have uploaded all original files for the install and certain features in the admin just won't work.

I used Firebug to find js errors in the console.

On the media upload page I get 5 errors saying "jQuery is not defined" including one on media-new.php and four others on plugin files.

So there's another clue, any idea? Bueller?

Go to http://your_domain.com/wp-admin/load-scripts.php?load=jquery. If it's blank, you may have hit a confirmed (possibly server-specific?) bug. Please reply if this is confirmed,.

    Yes, it's blank.

Try installing the Hotfix 0.8 plugin.
Incidentally, this was mentioned in the Master List. :-)

    That fixed it. Thanks!

I am having a similar problem with flyout menus not appearing, but my media uploaded seems unaffected. I have upgraded to 3.3.1. and installed the Hotfix 0.8. I've also deactivated and even deleted all plugins, switched themes, and tried the link to load jQuery. I do not get a blank page, rather a page full of code.

    Suggestions?!?

I was having a similar issue with one of my sites and discovered that the problem was caused by the plugin "WP TimeMachine for Backups." When I deactivated that plugin, I was able to upload images once again. I'm about to remove that plugin all together.
