    Hi all :)

So I've got my http://www.domain.com with Media Temple, but I can't seem to figure out how to create a http://name.domain.com url with my server.

Anyone know how to do this?

On most hosts that's called a "subdomain" and, usually, there are tools to create them.
Make sure you do NOT redirect the subdomain where you want to install your blog.

I don't know, never been hosted there. They must have some user manual, knowledge base or something...

The general instructions for installing are here:

@Unit9: If you're still wondering, to create a database on the (gs) Grid-Service platform, you log in to your AccountCenter ( https://ac.mediatemple.net ), click on "Admin" for your domain from the main dashboard page, and go to "Manage Databases". You will then see a tab titled "Add a Database". From here, you can create either a MySQL or PostgreSQL database. The "Global Settings" tab will reveal to you the username, password, and database hostname to use.

Note: You will need to use a specific hostname for your database on the (gs) Grid-Service. Using 'localhost' will not work. The hostname is something along the lines of 'internal-db.s<site_number>.gridserver.com', where '<site_number>' is replaced by your actual site number on the Grid.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the instructions armanmt. Reading the wp instructions on multiple databases was a bit vague for a newbie like me. I have both up and running now!!!
