• I used to be able to upload images and videos to my blog just fine, but the other day all the images in my posts and pages were replaced with the blue question mark that Safari uses when an image is missing (FireFox and IE also can’t view the images either) and the flash videos I had uploaded would no longer play. I checked the html in the posts to make sure the image links were correct and they were, I also checked the media section of the WordPress panel and everything was still there, but the preview thumbnails were also replaced with the blue question mark. I used Transmit (FTP Client) to check the image files and they’re all still there and valid. So I tried uploading some new images using the WordPress flash uploader and the new files have the same problem. If I try to go directly to an image URI I get an “Error 404 – Not Found” message.

At this point I decided to try switching the upload directory from the default (wp-content/uploads) to a new folder (uploads) and I switched the “Miscellaneous Settings” to reflect this. This worked as a temporary fix until I uploaded a flash video and embedded it in a page using the “FLV Embed” plugin, which seemed to brake everything again as soon as I visited the page with the embedded flash video. So I deactivated the “FLV Player” plugin, but still none of the images would show up, so I switched to a new directory (upload) and changed the “Miscellaneous Settings” and uploaded the images again, but this time it still gave me the blue question mark.

I’ve switched back to the default upload directory, it doesn’t work, but I figured I should leave it there for now, any ideas on what is causing this and/or how to fix it?

I don’t want the site URI to show up in google, so I’m posting a tinyURL to the site below.

    Thanks,
