   For some reason I can't seem to upload media at all.

   I try to upload and it shows that an image is being uploaded and completes (but it doesn't really complete.) Then the link shown is at this path:

   mysite.com/files/2010/11/myimage.jpg

   Since things are supposed to upload to the wp-content/blogs.dir directory, there is obviously a problem here. Has anyone else encountered something similar?

   That would be the correct path. WordPress will show that path but knows how the media is divided between the various sites in the blog.dir.

   Then how come I get a broken image even if I try to manually upload the file into the correct folder? Something is clearly breaking somewhere.

   1. do you have a link to the site with an example broken image.

   2. You can't just upload files manually to the WordPress directory. Not and have the WordPress media center recognize that it exists.

   And yes, I understand about uploading manually but, if the pointer was correct, it should still work. And thanks for the assistance.
