• Lots of trouble uploading images to my media library.

First, it takes me several tries to upload each image. I’m getting an error message initially that says “HTTP error.”

Here’s the message that appears under media was finally able to upload today:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 39583744) (tried to allocate 35174 bytes) in /home/btumid/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php on line 1883

In the library itself, the photos appear as tiny dots. I have to go into the text window and change code from width 1 px, length 1 px, to the desired length.

My featured image for my blog post isn’t showing up in the “featured image” box in edit mode, nor on my blog page.

Was hoping to publish a new post today to stay on schedule, but the featured image issue has me stuck. Please help!

    OK. We’re at a loss.

Initially, at the advice of our hosting company, we installed the regenerate thumbnails plugin. It didn’t work.

Then, in response to your suggestion, the hosting company set the PHP memory limit to 550M and upload max filesize & post max filesize to 512M.

That also failed to resolve the problem.

Our hosting company is now telling us this problem is a glitch with the theme itself (have you heard this?), and is advising us to switch to the twentytwelve theme to see whether the same image upload problem occurs there.

We’d like to avoid that scenario, since we have no sandbox, and all changes go live instantly. What a mess.

Do you have any other suggestions? We’re out of ideas.
