Media Library will not show thumbnail photographs (6 posts)

When I upload small enough jpgs into the Media Library, the thumbnails do not show. Only the question mark in the box. When I click on the edit image, the photo is there. If I try to add the image to a post I get the question mark in a box. I have disabled all of my plugins, I have tried permission changes for wp-content. 766,767,775, 755,777, all to no avail.
I have had success using the Media Library uploader in the past. I am using the twenty ten theme. Any ideas?

Check to make sure the images are RGB and not CMYK or high definition RGB,s etc.

Most servers have the necessary resizing libraries installed to process the images.

Are the original size images showing?

The images are exported from Aperture 3. They are jpg s in rgb, they range in size from 700kb to 1 mb. Their dimensions are 684X1027.
I am not sure how to find the original size image. In the upload new media window, there is a button for editing, when I click that the image is there.
In the file ULR, it has my web site and then "/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IMG_3138_RM3202RKlaas.jpg"

When you are working on a post, can you click on add image from media library, which add ones already in the library, and click on insert full size image.
Can you see the large size image in the post.
Who is your host? 1and1, godaddy, etc.

Sorry, I got distracted with some major projects and didn't get back until now.
I am able to add one of the photos from the past into a new post and it will show. When I try to use one recently uploaded, it uploads with the "?" for the thumbnail, when I look to resize it, it shows fine, when I try to add it to a post I get the "?" and when I preview the post I get the "?". I am using a small host called "wooden treasures". Local friend of mine.

I would make sure your friend has all the image libraries installed on your hosting platform. Could be you upgraded to say php5 from 4 and they did not install the extenstions. That would cause it not to be able to save a resize.
