Media Gallery errors in WP 2.5 (13 posts)

    Hi!

I have uprgaded my testing platform (lucky me) to WP 2.5 and have a serious issue with the Media Gallery feature.

Whenever I open the gallery to add a picture (video etc is the same) I do get the popup box and am able to browse for the image in my computer. The page media-upload.php however generates several errors:

    Line: 100
    Char: 36
Error: Expected identifier, string or number
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.gerdtarand.eu/testblogi/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=-1206944384&type=image&
    Line: 108
    Char: 3
Error: Expected identifier, string or number
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.gerdtarand.eu/testblogi/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=-1206944384&type=image&
    Line: 136
    Char: 2
    Error: object expected
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.gerdtarand.eu/testblogi/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=-1206944384&type=image&

Clicking the Upload button results in the image being listed underneath but without an image showing. Clicking on the Show button also does nothing.

I am using IE7 on Windows Vista, the blog runs on a virtual server but has worked perfctly before on older versions. The same thing is also happening on my other PC with IE7 and XP. The same problem IS NOT surfacing while using the latest Firefox beta issue which seems to work fine.

Any fixes to this one are highly welcome. Until then I am unable to update my other blogs to the newest version of WP.

Yes I am getting similar errors. Thank you for posting this. My IE7 does what your is doing and my Firefox works fine. However when I try to use my Nextgen gallery in Firefox it will not insert the image.

I got the same problem when using IE 6, firefox works perfect though...
I have been looking for a solution for it, but I guess it's too soon..
    I hope something comes out...

    Cheers,

http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6443 may fix the problem, but it broke the uploading of files for me now

I can upload, but other settings aren't working, such as thumbnail :(

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.13 WordPress 2.5 on my own site http://riverwriter.ca/wordcurrents/

When I try to upload images, I repeatedly get this error message: "An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later." Above the box, I have another error message: "HTML error"

Yes I'm also having the same issue.

    Works great with Firefox 2.0.0.13.

With Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 the thumb nails do not display in the gallery or when you upload an image. In the gallery area when you click the show button nothing happens, the image details are not displayed.

Applying fix http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6443 did not resolve the issue. This fix changed the script errors and also broke the uploader; thumbnails etc still do not work.

The active ticket for this issue appears to be http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6502

I updated today to version 2.5.1 and it appears to have fixed these bugs with IE and the media gallery - thumb nails are working and images are uploading etc.

I am still having problems with it in 2.5.1, using Facebook 2.0.0.14

I get an "HTTP Error" message when the upload stops before finishing. I then have the option to discard the upload bar. The discard process works.
