    Here is what I am doing:

    1. download wp to my computer using a local host Bitamni
    2. Use theme called Architectos
    3. Develop site
    4. everything is fine

    THEN
    1. download clean WP to my computer without theme
    2. set database name password etc.
    3. upload to web server
    4. install theme

    At this point without any import of any XML I see in the dashboard menus, pages, portfolio pages, etc AND name of images but no images

    However when I try to import an XML file it fails and does not import the images. It does however create duplicate copies of all my pages in my menu (which I then have to delete).

    can you offer any way to resolve this?

    I actually got the word press site to work by uploading media files and reattaching images (i.e. doing almost everything twice). Off server development did not work very well.
