   Rather than create one long list or growing media files, is there a way to manage media by creating folders. For example a folder for >media>dogs or >media>children etc. etc Right now if I upload say 1000 media files trying to find one will be like finding that needle in a haystack.

   Thanks and I hope someone can advise.

   Your only real option is to sort them into month/year folders via Settings/Miscelleaneous.

   You can upload them via FTP. They won't appear in the Media Gallery though.
