   I'm building my 1st WP site using the Matala theme. I haven't the slightest idea what WP version I'm using or where to look. Sorry! I downloaded it about a month ago if that's of any use.

   I'm using only pages and building a static site. I could do these things in Blogger or Squidoo with my eyes closed but feel it's time to grow up, wear big boy pants and graduate to WP! (scary!)

   My 1st question: Where/How do I find the HTML for the theme?

   2nd question: I have 2 Home pages. What does one do about that? Need to remove one obviously.

   3rd question: I need to delete time/date but could probably figure that out on my own if I could locate the HTML but if you have any input it would be much appreciated.

   Thanks in advace for your input! It's much appreciated! Hope it's not too much to ask in 1 post.

   dashboard - appearance - editor

   2)
   in functions.php:
   

   function matala_page_menu_args($args) {
   		$args['show_home'] = true;
   	return $args;
   	}
   	add_filter( 'wp_page_menu_args', 'matala_page_menu_args' );

   change true to false

   3)
   in content.php:
   remove:
   

   <?php matala_post_date(); ?>

   and:
   

   <div class="entry-info">
   			<?php matala_posted_on(); ?>
   		</div><!-- .entry-info -->

   (if you need to keep the author output, don't remove the last section - post here again for more detailed suggestions)

   When I look under appearance I have:
   Themes
   Widgets
   Theme options
   Header
   Background
   Custom Design
   Mobile
   iPad

   No editor. Is it me or is it the theme?

   I AM in WordPress.com and your statement has made it eminently clear to me why I'm having the problems I'm having! lol! DUH! As I said, this is my first attempt at WordPress and I obviously have much to learn! I will get this figured out as I have to build many more WordPress sites before all is said and done! I have a hosting account. I wasn't going to put this site on it because it doesn't belong to me but it is mine to maintain. It's http://www.landofnodshihtzu.wordpress.com altho she does own the .com URL.
