[resolved] MarketPress Lite Payment Gateways (10 posts)

    Hi,
    I am using MarketPress Lite Version 2.9.0.3. I just set up a Simplify Commerce account. It works great, but when it is activated, the Paypal and Manual payment options do not work. When I deactivate Simplify, Paypal and manual payment options work. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Thanks for posting. Could you let me know what you mean by deactivating Simplify? Are you using a plugin for it?

    If so, could you provide a reference for that plugin so we could look into this?

    When I say I deactivate Simplify, I mean that I go into the MarketPress Lite settings, and under the payments tab, I uncheck the Simplify Commerce option. I'm not using a Simplify Commerce plugin.

    Hi @jlmkl,

    Thanks for clarifying that and I'm sorry for being so dull with that one! The Simplify gateway is "relatively" new and I forgot all about it.

    I've just activated all three of those gateways and didn't notice any trouble specifically. I was still able to add items to the cart.

    Could you let me know what specifically you're experiencing with all 3 activated?

    If possible, could you try switching to a default theme like Twenty Thirteen and deactivating other plugins to see how it works with that?

    It'll help to know if this is due to a plugin/theme conflict.

    Hi David,

    Yes, I have disabled all the plugins except MarketPress Lite, but the problem persists. We use the Twenty Eleven theme.

    Specifically, the problem comes during the checkout process. Everything works well until I reach the 'Payment Information' screen. So I am able to:
    -Add items to the cart
    -Click the 'checkout now' button
    -Input shipping information
    -Click the 'continue checkout' button.

    After inputting shipping info and clicking the 'continue checkout' button, I am at the 'Payment Information' screen. When all three options are active, the Payment Information screen prompts users to "Choose a payment method." Users can select Manual Payments, Paypal, or Credit Card (Simplify). Here is the problem:

    -If I select Manual Payment and then click the 'continue checkout' button, nothing happens.
    -If I select Paypal and then click the 'continue checkout' button, nothing happens.
    -If I select Credit Card, fields appear to enter my credit card info (I'm still on the Payment Info page at this point). Once I enter my cc info, I can then click the 'continue checkout' button and am taken to the 'Confirm Your Purchase' page. I can click the 'confirm payment' button and complete my transaction.

    If I disable the Simplify Commerce option in the MarketPress Lite settings, then the Paypal and Manual payment options work fine, and I can complete transactions using either payment method.

    Not sure if this info is helpful: Our server is running PHP version 5.2.13 and MySQL version 5.0.96.

    Please let me know if I can do anything else to help pinpoint the problem. We have been using MarketPress Lite for several years with much success. We were thrilled to see the Simplify Commerce option and hope we can get it working.

    Hi @jlmkl,

    I'm really sorry for the delay with this. I lost my main "single" test site so I had to setup another test site for this and I do see what you mean.

    Thanks for clarifying that the final Checkout buttons for Manual and PayPal gateways don't do anything when pressed, when using the Simplify gateway. I'm able to replicate that locally.

    Thanks for reporting this. I'll let the developers know and we'll get fixed up.
