Mapping URL permalink with accented characters to non-accented post permalink (2 posts)

    Hi!

I'm switching my blog from a service that allowed accents on the permalink slugs so I have a permalink (hundreds!) that looks like this:

    /más-de-méxico.htm

how do I map this URL permalink to their WordPress contrapart when the permalink is cleaned off accented characters like this:

    /mas-de-mexico.htm

A rule on the .htaccess file? How to write something like this? A plugin?

    Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with swedish permalinks. I used a mu-plugin, removed the sanitize_title_with_dashes filter and added my filter which replaces the foreign characters with their utf representation. It sounds more complicated then it is actually. You can check the full manual of using accents in permalinks here
