• Ok, I will try to make this make sense.

I have had a wordpress.com site for two years. I decided this year to upgrade to a hosted .com site. I used GoDaddy.com and uploaded WordPress and everything worked great. I added plugins, changed the theme, the whole shebang.

Then, I tried to map my .com to my .wordpress.com. At first everything went seamlessly, except that now I can’t access my .com dashboard. Everything reverts back to the wordpress.com dashboard. My new theme, plugins and everything are gone. Did I not do something right? Please help!

  • If I am reading right it sounds like you’ve just pointed your new domain (the godaddy .com url) at your old wordpress.com site – this would explain why you are now logging into your old site via your old domain.

The simple fix should be just to point the domain back at your new site – in other words, just undo the mapping that you did earlier.

Hope that helps, and sorry if I’ve misunderstood your question.
