Many permissions issues (5 posts)

    This problem started in 3.1.1 but I have updated and still get the same problems. I restored this site from a backup that was working fine on another host. I also restored two other wordpress sites to the new host and they work fine.

    Issues are: Editor for all css gives "You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes" but the permissions are 755 on each;

    GextGEN Gallery: Add new gallery gives "Directory wp-content/gallery/ is not writeable !" (also set as 755)

    Same with Upload Image.

    Uplaod Theme zip gives "The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/xxxxx/public_html/yyyyy/wp-content/uploads/2011/06." (this has just started happening)

    These all seem connected as 'permissions' issues but I cannot find a way out of the mess.

    Issue 2: Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    Issue 1@ As 2 but change the permissions on the individual theme folders.

    Thanks esmi - I got as far as changing wp-content to 766 (not recursive) and tried to create a nextGEN gallery - now all my plugins are showing "The plugin nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist."

    Any ideas what brand of poison I should take?

    Also, my Admin dashboard has the following warning:

    "Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in /home/factorli/public_html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 519"

    This warning persists if I replace the theme.php with the backup from the previous install.
