• Today is my first day using the new 2.7 version of WordPress and just when I thought I was getting use to the changes, I have come to a roadblock.

I uploaded 4 new plugins to the blog via Filezilla a short while ago.
All four are showing in the server side window of Filezilla.

However, when I am logged into the WP admin and click on Plugins the only plugins showing are the 2 standard Akismet and Hello Dolly.

I refreshed the page but still the 4 plugins did not show up.
I then logged out and logged back in again to see if that might refresh
the view so that I would be able to activate the new plugins… but still they did not show up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Don P

  • I’ve been having the exact same problem. Added a new plug-in, moved it to my server and the correct folder and it does not show up in the admin. I even tried deleting the hello dolly default plug-in and that still shows up in the admin. I’d like to figure this one out too!

    Dermot

Same problem here. No nested directories.

The plugin I’have tried: Let it snow and Sociable.

I have tried deactivate and removing all other plugins, with no luck. But if I move the main plugin php file to my plugin/ folder the plugin will appear in the plugin menu. But then (of coarse) the plugin will be broken.

Make sure that your plugins are in the correct directory. Some need to be in wp-content/plugins/pluginname/ and some just need to be in the plugins directory. Most are the first.

i’ve checked all the suggestions mentioned here, the nested folders etc, and am still having the same problem. I also watched the helpful video (thanks whoami) but still no joy:( Any other suggestions. The plug-in I’m trying to use is the Flutter plug-in.

    Any other suggestions?

This is also a problem for me… seems like a glitch of some sort. Even when I try to do some core installs the plugins fail and do not install. So when I tried to install them manually they do not show up in admin so I can activate them…. HELP!!!!

hey guys i have also the same problem i dont see my previous installed plugings as well.

    pls help me out.

This looks like a bug to me. It’s exactly the same with all my WordPress instalations.

    But still I can’t find any solutions…

It’s more likely to be one of two things.

    1) The plugin has been uploaded to the wrong place.
    2) The plugin directory’s permissions are wrong.

I’m really sure the plugins are put at the right place. But I could check the permission of the directories.

when i am running wordpress 2.6.2 all my pluggins are shown after upgrading it to 2.7.0. it dont show any of my pluging installed.

can u tell me what permission should a pluging directory have.

or can i activate pluging any other way by hacking some codes???

Thanks mrmist, changing file permissions did the trick! I changed to 755, but not sure if thats the best/right one.
