Hi I did a manual upgrade and I am now getting the following error
Warning: require(/home/schw1961/public_html/blog/wp-includes/classes.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/schw1961/public_html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 202

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/schw1961/public_html/blog/wp-includes/classes.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/schw1961/public_html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 202

I copied the wp-admin and wp-includes directory's (after deleting the old ones) as per the instructions but now get the above error. I also thought that I had backed up these files but of course now it appears that I did not.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Tks

It could be that you made too big a jump. Did you get as far as the database update? Possibly there have been a few database changes between 2.5 and 3.2. The safer way would be to upgrade to 2.6, 2.7, etc. (you can probably skip a couple, but I don't know which versions had database changes).

Found a missing file so now I am up to the db update and yes I am running the wrong version of mysql db. any ideas where to get some instructions on updating mysql. The instructions sat I should get a link when I try to go into admin but all I get is the following message
"You cannot update because WordPress 3.2.1 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.22."

I am using cpanel but cannot see an easy way to update the db to the required version
Any ideas where I can get some istructions?

I think that with most hosts you can't update server software yourself.

Your database version is too old. You will have to upgrade your database before you can make an update to this new version
