Manual creation of sitemap missing

    What happens to the link to manually create/regenerate sitemap?

    What if I make a change to my site apart from publishing new content? How I can reflect this in the sitemap?

    In previous version I can do it regenerating the sitemap with the create manually link, but now??

    Since the sitemap is not static anymore, there is no need to rebuild it. It is always created freshly on every request. 🙂

    It sounds great for freshness, but it makes me worried about possible performance issues.

    philsp: same concerns here.

    Arnee, will you consider an option to write out the files statically. Frankly, I have little interest in having sitemaps generated on every request dynamically considering how often bots are hitting and indexing my sitemaps.

    At the absolute very least, I would assume you should write them out for caching purposes.

    Some of us have heavy traffic blogs (more than 100,000+ uniques a day) and having dynamic output on each request is certainly not ideal, more especially without caching.
