Manage multiple blogs simultaneously

I was wondering if there was any plugins available at the moment that allowed site admins to make changes to all their blogs simultaneously. I currently run an educational blogging network using WordPress Multisite and a few teachers have been wanting the functionality so they can make changes to all of their class blogs e.g. activating plugins, adding widgets, adding categories. Had a scout about on the plugins section and Google but can’t see anything available. If there isn’t I may have a go at making something that would accomplish this.
