After upgrading to 2.2.2, when I click Manage->Categories, I get this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: _get_category_hierarchy() in /home/tinyfarm/public_html/wp-admin/admin-functions.php on line 780

Upload a fresh copy of wp-admin/category.php

    1. delete the copy thats on your server
    2. Upload a new one copy out of the zip

    See if that helps.

Yes, thanks! It was actually that I'd upgraded by overwriting via FTP, and somehow the entire wp-includes hadn't been copied over. It's all right as rain now. Thanks. Sorry for the premature post...shoulda taken the extra couple of minutes to check it out more thoroughly!!

Same problem here, 2.2.3 to 2.3.2 upgrade now missing categories. I've tried both suggestions above but no luck. Could it be that 2.2.3 had category.php and 2.3.2 has categories.php so the calling script is looking for the wrong page?

I have the same problem -
Fatal error: Call to undefined function _get_category_hierarchy() in /home/linkingf/public_html/edubeacon/wp-admin/admin-functions.php on line 780
A suggestion for a solution would be much appreciated. I think this problem with categories may also be the reason my blogroll cannot be seen on the homepage since the upgrade. It's still there, just doesn't show up.

I'm also having this problem. I downloaded the newest version of WordPress and uploaded to my server and its still showing this problem. Would love some suggestions (other than the ones above, I've already done those).
