Manage > Lists disappeared in 2.2.1 (2 posts)

I upgraded from 2.0.5 to 2.2.1 today. The Manage>Lists feature disappeared and I found my lists in my sidebars gone.

Under Blogroll, I see the three categories that I used to feature three different lists in my sidebar. The numbers that ID'd the categories are not shown which means that my sidebars can't recognize the lists and therefore I get nothing.

I turned on the List Manager plugin (which I can't remember if I had it on before, I had all the plugins turned off during upgrading) and it gives me a Manage>Lists feature back. But then, I click and get an error:

"The requested URL /wp-admin/edit-lists.php was not found on this server."

True, there's no file in my directory like that, and in my old 2.0.5 files I can't find one either.

I need to know how to get my list numbers back or figure out how I can have different categorized blogrolls in three separate places in my sidebar again. Any help would be appreciated.

I appear to finally have found the answer in the codex at:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_bookmarks

Here it lists that the wp_list_bookmarks tag has replaced the wp_get_links tag.

This isn't very intuitive since "bookmarks" is not a topic in the dashboard. I actually figured this out by downloading a random theme from the theme listings which contained a blogroll on it and then looking at the code to see what tag was used to list the blogroll.

I think this could have been handled a little better in the recoding of WP 2.1 and above.
