• I currently self-host my WP blog. I have recently installed MAMP so that I can work on my blog offline and then upload to server. Great. I followed a tutorial that I found which covered off the best way to get my hosted version of my blog onto MAMP. It worked great.

Since then though I have decided to change the document root of my localhost so that other uses of my Mac can’t accidentally delete my files (as with the default settings localhost is available through Applications).

I shifted my WP files to the new root, however when I now try to load localhost I get an ‘index of’ page rather than my blog, telling me to install WP. I suspect that something in the mySQL database needs updating but I can’t seem to work it out.

    Any ideas?
