   Hey folks,
   I use Mamp Pro to develop wordpress sites locally. I'm running into a problem where when I register a new user on the site or try to retrieve a lost password for instance, I don't receive any confirmation or retrieval emails from WordPress. Does anyone know how to set up email on Mamp to work with WordPress?

   I think it has something to do with the Mac 'postfix'. Is anyone familiar with this?

   Hi,

   you have to set up postfix. You can do this in MAMP PRO -> Server -> Postfix.

   Thanks Dirk.

   I use Gmail so I entered smtp.gmail.com under 'domain of outgoing mail'. Still not working.

   Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
