Hi everyone,
When I registered with forums I could only register under my full name. It wouldn't allow me to post under a nickname. Can I delete this user account?
Also I noticed that the wp forum posts show up in google when I do a search for my name. Is there any way to change the first and avoid the latter?

1. No, unless you work for Google
2. Dont post here using a name you want to keep out of Google.
Not only does Google pick up posts here very quickly, this site is heavily syndicated.

can I delete this user name and start fresh?
I tried making a brand new user via advice from someone else's post, but WP won't let me use an alias when I try to register.

You cant delete usernames, no. If you ask the right people though -- they might.
Im not sure what "alias" you speak of when registering here. The name that shows up when you post is the string you enter into the username field. Its fairly straightforward and unless you chose something thats already taken, its fairly lenient on what's allowed name-wise (Unless the leniency has been adjusted).
It sounds like you were trying to use the same e-mail for the second account? That wont work. One username == one email.
