Making a link to be shown in lightbox

It might just be me, but I can’t seem to make the images i have in thumbnail link to the image shown in lightbox instead of linking to another page with the image in fullsize.
I would also like to remove the main slider so only the list of thumbnails is shown (preferably in a line which is scrollable), but I might need another plugin for this feature?
