• After entering many posts into what I called first the “posts” page I decided that this “posts” page should be the first to show up when connecting to the site. So I renamed the “posts” page “home” and the previous “home” page I renamed it “about”. I also changed the menu order so that #1 would be “home”, number 2 “about” etc.
In the menu indeed the first page to the left is called “home” as I wanted. But when connecting to the site the first page to come up is the second (which was the previously called “home”).
In other words, however the home page is re-named and in whatever order is placed in the menu it still comes up first when connecting to the site.
Any chance of having this corrected? By the way the site is

Have you done a Static Home Page then?

And then have a custom menu to organize what page is where and you should be good.

Thank you, Ipstenu. I have done ther static page(s)and using the bcustom menu I have been able to make it so that the “home” page is the posts page. However, when after navigating through the site, the visitor returns to the home page, the page is empty because it shows only the “latests posts” or so I learned. But because during the navigation by the visitors there have been no new posts, the home page n(that is the posts page) appears (is) empty. To see the posts again the navigator must exit the site and connect again.
I wonder if it is possible to bypass this obstacle. I think I am not the only one who would like to have the posts page as the home page.
    Cheers,

    Delete the home page (http://yourdailyshakespeare.com/?page_id=31)

You’re on 2011, so just make a custom menu and put in the URL of http://yourdailyshakespeare.com/ for your HOME page 🙂

Once more thank you,Ipstenu and again my follow-up question betrays my ignorance. If I delete the home page will not all the content, in this case all the many posts be deleted for good and forever?
And hopefully assuming that this is not so, when I go to the item “menu” in the “appearances” sub-menu I cannot find a place where to put the URL as you suggest. In which section or dashboard menu is this function or optin to be found?
    Thank you

Thanks Ipsenu. There was an entry in my statistucs referring to this post and I just want to say that thanks to your help I was able to resolve the issue
