• Hello all,

I have been having a few issues with WordPress and getting it to work like I want it to. My website is at: http://www.theraspberrypiguy.com

What I would like to do is have a sub page called Blog and News… Here I will put any interesting pieces of information that I see, for example KickStarter projects. However I do not know how to set WordPress up so that when I make a new post it goes on to my Blog and News page! Do you know how to do this? Without destroying my home page? The various online methods want me to get rid of my Home Page in favour of a static one, I am running the responsive theme and do not want to do this because I like the look of my site. Please help me!

Thanks and look forward to your reply,

    The Raspberry Pi Guy

  • Yes, a static page is the usual route to go with this.

How did you set up your current homepage? It is possible (and easy) to use a static home page to create the page you have now.

    Thanks for the reply,

My home page is simply the default one that came with the Responsive theme (the one you can edit in Appearances); all I did was embed that YouTube video and put a few lines of text in it. Is there anyway I can make the page static? Ideally I don’t want to get rid of it!

    Thanks again,

I’m not familiar with that theme, but you should be able to forgo the theme’s default home page and just use a static page.

If the front page has its own slug, then you can use it as a static home page. You might want to post in the theme’s support forum to see how to do that.
