I am new to WP, and I am just researching and did not find the answers I was looking for googling.

If I get a theme that has alot of features I want, is there a way beyond whats built into the theme, to make the backround, footer, and header, menus, buttons, etc more attractive. I would like a really high production value to my site with high quality artistically sound layout.

I was thinking like a plug-in or something else I could ad that would allow me to add high quality looks to a theme that has the features I like, but is really plain looking. I would like to add like really cool graphic/shadowed artistic looking lettering, backround, or images, even awesome 3d stuff (if possible) to make a really professional looking and attractive website.

Are these kind of design features possible outside of the original theme, or am I going to have to find a theme that has the form and function I need already bundled? Thanks!

Is this possible, to get addons to make site look better; or do the looks and design features have to be built into the theme itself? Thank you!

Generally the look and design are aspects of the theme. Depending on the theme it many also include extra functions beyond just the design.

You can customize the themes files to achieve pretty much any look or design you like. It just depends on your skill level.

There maybe some plugins available to help control certain design elements, but typically the looks and design are features of the theme. While plugins are for functionality.

Well if I had a really nicely designed header/footer, or a really good logo, or backround design that would be disappointing if I would not be able to implement them into my site.

There is a really cool Theme I was planning on getting. It has alot of the features and ability I am looking for, its just not good looking at all.

I was hoping it would be like Myspace was, where you could inject code, and as long as the code was scripted properly it would ad design elements, or features as you needed.

A lot of themes have the option to change the background, you can change/replace the images that come with the theme via ftp or your control panels file manager, and can style with the stylesheet.

With the menu’s WordPress has theme locations for custom menu’s, email the themes author with your questions, or see if there is a support forum.

Additional functions can be added with plugins, but I think you might need to get “under the hood” to get it just how you would like it!
