Make submit unclickable until required fiends filled?

Hi there, my site uses ajax to load pages etc and getting re-directed to current page + “1384269344684#wpcf7-f58-p28-o1” is far from ideal, would much prefer if the submit button was either unclickable with fields missing or if you click it with fields missing, add a class to the fields with missing content (so I can style them with a red border, or a :before/:after with a red “*” etc)
If there is an option to do this it has eluded me, any help using a pre-existing feature of the plugin would be greatly appreciated.
