Make sidebars wider (3 posts)

    I would like to make my sidebars wider so I can display a 300 x 250 ad. I figured out how to make the sidebar wider by adjusting this code in the style.css sheet:

    #sidebar-left, #sidebar-right {float: left; width: 300px;}

    But when I do that, my right sidebar moves to the bottom of the page. I'm sure there are some margins that need to be adjusted elsewhere, I'm just not sure where.

    Web URL is: http://cookingbride.com

    Thanks!

    Yes, you'd need to change the size of other elements on the page. Depending on the theme, that may not be simple. But as you are using a commercial theme, you'll need to contact Elegant Themes for help - they provide support for their themes and commercial themes are not supported here.

    You could also try using Firebug to help you work with the layout of the page -- changing widths and margins. But definitely use a custom CSS option or plug-in as you can really mess things up. Making changes in one element can also affect other templates...like I said, it's not always simple :).

    please contact elegantthemes for support;

    this forum does not support commercial themes.

    or try working with a browser inspection tool to find what other styles you need to edit.
