single page posts

    how do you make posts a single page and not an archive?

    it always defaults to the uncategorised category and therefore the archive template is used and i want to use the single.php template

    WordPress uses the Template Hierarchy to determine what template renders your posts or post.

    The single.php, if it exists in your theme’s folder, will be used to display the single post view. Typically you get to a single post view by clicking on a post title.
