[resolved] Make pics dissolve from one to the next (10 posts)

My client would like to have their photos dissolve from one to the next. As opposed to sliding, as the WooSlider would do.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Which slider do you have?

    I have WooSlider 1.0.5.

According to its docs, it's designed to have pics slide horizontally across from pic to pic.
I want the pics to fade/dissolve from pic to pic. So as one fades out, you can see the next one slowly appear below it.

What did Woothemes say about this query, or have you yet to ask?

I haven't asked them, yet. I thought I would try the forum first since that's what they suggested in their video.

I've been playing with Slideshow settings. If I can get this setup to appear in what would be the banner area of the site, that would be great.

Here is my own subdomain I've been "playing" with WordPress to get used to it:

    test_site

Notice I have a slideshow in the sidebar. Although the pics seem to shift slightly. If I can prevent the shifting happen and place this in the banner area, that would tackle what I need to do.

Check out Nivo Slider. Our company bought the WordPress developer's license a while ago. One of the best plugin purchases we've made. I mean, what beats unlimited installations? And we didn't have to write an administrator section to manage it.

    How's Nivo Slider's support?

    @Andrew: I've never needed it.

If you want to tackle it yourself, checkout this article for writing custom fading divs/images/etc, I found it to be very helpful: http://snook.ca/archives/javascript/simplest-jquery-slideshow

Thanks, Andrew. I think that will be my solution. The tutorial shows that it's real easy to use and set up.

    Cheers,
    Todd
