• Hey,

I have installed WordPress and made it MU on my root folder, so by default I destroyed my /www/
Now i wish to either move this and keep my /www/ empty so I could make a landing page for all my blogs/subdomains or just remove this and still run other multisite blogs individually.
Or is there a way I could make other blogs as individual blogs out of the present MU structure.

Note : The main /www doesn’t have any working blog, it redirects to my another blog.

I hope I didn’t confuse anyone and made it clear.

    Thanks for the help.

On Multisite a blog is refered to as a ‘site’.

If you’re okay with URLs like mydomain.com/folder/sitename then yes. No problem.

If the main www is just redirecting, why not install MS there, import the other blog as the MAIN site, and then make your other sites sub-sites?

Okay wait let me try to explain you this with an example.

    My present MU installation
    domain.com – main site
    domain.com/1 – subsite 1
    domain.com/2 – subsite 2
    domain.com/2 – subsite 3

For now my domain.com (main site) redirects to domain.com/2 , thats how I have configured it.

Now i want to keep all the subsites and remove the domain.com as WP. But the main site is on domain.com.
As i want to make a landing page on my domain.com

You want to turn the main site back into a static landing page then?

However you redirected domain.com to domain.com/2, undo it, basically. Without looking at what you did, I can’t begin to tell you how to reverse it 🙂

You can;t remove the main blog.

If you want them all back as single WP installs… hit the Export button. Install WP in each directory.
