I just converted my blog from blogger to Word press, and so far I have been able to get most things setup the way I want it. Only one thing is missing, the excerpt text is not including the image that is posted at the top of my blog entries.

Is this just a theme modification or do I actually have to upload the photos instead of just linking to them? (I linked to them so I would not take up all of my space on blogger, which is no longer an issue)

Once this problem is resolved I should be able to figure out everything else I need to make this my public blog.

    Blog URL: http://jonathanzenor.com/

    Thank you.

After hours of searching I finally found the answer!

I found a plugin that makes a thumbnail of the first image in a post and adds it to the excerpt. http://www.cnet.ro/wordpress/thumbnailforexcerpts/

Seems to do just what I was looking for. (So far I am not regretting my switch to WP).

I'm not sure, but I think the_excerpt() is text-only, so you might want to edit your theme to use the_content() instead. E.g. edit index.php and replace the_excerpt() with the_content('Read more')
