Hi all
i'm using WordPress as a community magazine style site, and I want to let the public register and write posts, but I want them to only write for the 'public' page, a kind of 'have your say' area. With this in mind i've made a custom new role called 'public' but I want to restrict which categories they can post to, can anyone tell me how or suggest a plugin to do this?
Many thanks
Will

Hi guys, If anyone has same issue as me I ended up using the links2categories 2 plugin, found in the wp plugins directory here. It allows you to grant access to post writing based on user level, so I set my user level for all categories except public to 5 for example, and then let the public users write to public if they are level 2.
works a treat.

Hi,
I think Will meant to say that he is using the Level2Categories 2 plugin.

Good save! sorry yeah, too many shorthand names in my head, cheers man good work :)
Another option would be to use the TDO mini forms
plugin. Which lets users and non registered users submit articles. Great plugin. Hope that helps.
