Major (database access?) problem (8 posts)

When upgrading to 2.9.2, I lost all my blog posts, or so it seemed. A phpAdmin DB repair fixed it and the posts are now up again only to display two more problems:

    • I am no longer able to edit or add posts/media/anything. I am not even able to use akismet and flag/delete spam comments. The latter produces the error "An unidentified error has occurred", but the rest of the installation gives no error or feedback whatsoever.
    • The whole installation is very slow, idling for several seconds even if my DB is very small, only with a few articles.

I have another WP install on the same server, just in another subdirectory. This is lighting fast and working as expected. Any solutions?

Tried upgrading with Fantastico, giving this result

    Upgrade failed

The database xxxxxxx is not working properly and the creation of a database backup file has failed. Please contact the sysadmin for further assistance. Include this message for reference.

The initial installation has not been modified.

sounds like it's time to contact your host with this info and see if they can fix the db

I have full access to my DB via cpanel. What could my host do more? (Or am I missing out on something here?)

(PHP admin is displaying all ok on all tables.)

if you repaired all database tables and are still getting those messages, maybe the host can rebuild it
if you have a recent back up, you might import that... see what happens

Ok, even editing the settings of the installation produces no result. That's an insight.

Seems everything I do just doesn't enter into the database. Reading goes well, but writing is no go.

Thanks, I'll check into the backup scheme. If anyone has other ideas, they are surely welcome!

Did a export and a complete rebuild of the site. Still hacking the new css. I guess it was time. :)
