lancerkindMailPress stopped working for me after I upgraded WordPress from 2.6 to 2.6.2 and the MailPress plugin from 1.8 to 1.9.
The symptoms where:
I'd try to subscribe and there was no visual feedback other than, for a second, the status area of Safari (lower left hand corner) said 'Loading step 1/2' and then nothing would seem to happen; the subscription form didn't show the spiny that it was busy nor did it report that it was waiting for the user to become active; and when I check the MailPress users, I wouldn't see a user was added.
I accidentally got it working when I:
I added the MailPress *widget* and then removed it.
I fixed the error that some other widget was having with bcmod.
I don't know directly why it started working again. :-(
