MailPress import csv problem – address format not accepted

Is there a way to tell Mailpress to accept email addresses that don’t conform to the name@domain.com format? I need to send emails to school and colleges who use a name@county.schlname.col format. Mailpress im[port module rejects a whole csv file import if it contains these addresses.
I tested it by only including certain address formats, the feature which highlights incorrect addresses is still confused by these educational address formats.
