    Calling all coding maestros!!!

    I need some CSS help:

I'm using Magazine basic for http://www.countdownto30.com, which I'm just getting set up right now.

I've spent hours trawling through help posts so think the below questions are unique. Apologies if I have missed previous answers!

    1. Is is possible to rename the "home" tab (top left in black bar menu) to something else?

    2. Would it be possible to copy the layout of the home/recent posts page but make it static so that I could have one page that stayed the same all the time? I've tried copying the index.php to caterogry.php but it literally just copies the existing pots page and updates with that whereas I would be looking to put in a few statics posts on this one page.

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Goto your header.php file and fint this "sf-menu sf-js-enabled sf-shadow" This is the class name of the link to home page. There you will find the php code including
<a href="<?php bloginfo('url')?>"> SOMEFUNCTION TO PUT THE LINK TEXT ("HOME"</a>

Now replace the SOMEFUNCTION thing with the text of your choice.

    2. You can do that by visiting your blog home g page. then View source. Save the source and remove the post entry and stuff from the source and pasting what you need to appear there.

    Hello

Thanks ajithkpunnoose for answering this - very kind and helpful!

I have managed to change the name on the category link as per point number 1 above but I am a little confused/don't understand how to do point 2. I apologise! Very new to this.

When I visit my home page and View Source, I am unable to edit it in my browser so I save it to a .txt file.

From there I am not sure what the post entry stuff looks like and what exactly I need to paste in it;s place in order to create a template for static pages based on the layout of Magazine Basic's main index.php.

Also once I have created such a template, what file format must I save it in and which folder on my server must I put it in?

Thanks very much -- any help MUCH appreciated!

To clarify - basically I want to make my "About" page in Magazine basic look like my "home" page but have it static so that I can have 6 static posts on it.

I would then like to create a template out of said page so that I can have static pages peppered throughout my blog as needed.

Not sure it's possible but hope so!
