Hey everyone,
Macromedia recently selected my WordPress powered site as one of the finalists for the Macromedia Innovation Award. It would be awesome if you guys could vote for me and bring some more sunshine to WordPress!
I'm Oliver Zheng in the Digital Communication section. I really appreciate your support.
Thanks,
Oliver

ok cool, I was looking for something that would explain it.
"The backend is PHP and MySQL powered"
No mention of WP on that macromedia page.
Pity.
No mention of WP on that macromedia page.
Yes, there is, below the right hand column.

"macromedia page"
No there is not.
On the blog maybe, but not on the page linked to above.
Unless someone visits the website, they will never know that it is WP, just that PHP and MySQL are used - and that coudl be many programs.
I see. You are right, of course. But he has "proudly powered by WordPress" on (I guess) every page of his site. I would call that a redeeming factor :) (If he needed one.)

agreed.
"I would call that a redeeming factor :) (If he needed one.)"
I think the reason it has been brought up is that he's asked us to vote for him because it would "bring some more sunshine to WordPress!" and I'm guessing that's why a lot of people did.
Unfortunately, it'll bring little exposure to WP because there WP wasn't mentioned on the Macromedia site.
Note that I'm not saying that WP should have been mentioned or that his posting an announcement here is wrong; quite the opposite. However, the request to "vote for him as a vote for WP" was, perhaps, unnecessary.
That description there is actually the description of how I implemented the functions on my site using Macromedia tools - nothing about the content of it. (It's just promotion for Macromedia's own products, I guess.)
I think if that a blog (powered by WordPress) is featured on macromedia.com, it would probably mean something. The visitors following that link would surely notice WordPress :)
And thank you very much for the votes guys! It really means a lot to me.
voted for you. it's super!
