I am a total novice with WordPress and all things web. I was able to download a great theme, install it and practically finish what I considered an excellent website, until I tried to moved the URL and made that fatal mistake it seems many have made. However, all the tutorials and solutions I was given links to did not work for me. I essentially initially had the same problem as this guy: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/changed-the-wordpress-address-now-lost-template-and-login-ability
I had my site on a blog page and decided I want to have it overwrite my previous website. I naively figured I could just plug in my old site's URL and have it be. And then this happened: http://bailoutpictures.com/blog/
The site is all there, but no theme. I seem to now have also lost some links in trying to move things over. I tried modifying php files, the whole nine yards. That is unless i was doing it totally wrong, but i was following the directions verbatim, so I'm not sure how I could've made that mistake.
I tried to restore everything and then just the theme and that worked for a moment. I had everything running again from a few days ago. After I tried to follow the tutorials to change my URL again and back to the same. When I tried to restore from the 12/27 again, it didn't work. I was overwriting the original files, so perhaps that was the case?
I just want to reboot from 3 days ago and try again. Any suggestions on what I could do? I feel like the solution is pretty simple. Not much is lost work-wise, I just need to find out how to connect it all.
Hell, I'm so frustrated I'm even willing to give my login and have someone take a look. I wanted this up on Jan 1st for symbolic reasons and otherwise. Any help is greatly appreciated.
