Lost Site - 404 Error messages (2 posts)

I'm hoping someone can help me restore my site. I've been working on it for the last three days, and it was nearly done. But I wanted to change the url, from naomifoyle.com/wp to naomifoyle.com So I tried to do this in General Settings. When I clicked Save Changes this message came up:

    Not Found

The requested URL /about/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Now whenever I try to get into the backend, this same message comes up. Plus, when I go to the frontend, I only see a formatless version of my homepage, and all the links come up with the same error message.

I phoned my webhostcompany - I had used Webhosting.uk and Softaculous. They said I had to uninstall and reinstall it - that is, re-input everything. I did yesterday install the Back Up plug-in, but they thought that all my back-up would now be lost, as the new settings would apply.

Does anyone know what happened, and if I need to uninstall, or there is another way to recover the site? And if I do reinstall, will I be able to use the Back Up plug in?

    Thank you very much.
