I just transferred my blog and the domain where it resides from one host to another. In doing so, I backed up the whole thing, installed wordpress on the new site, and then installed the data. Everything is working except the blog is a snapshot dating back to March of this year-- all posting and setting changes (including updating the theme I was running) are as they were on a random day in March. Before making the transfer, I set all commenting closed for posts over 2 days old; that setting was changed back. I had a different "banner" picture in March than I have now, a picture I am almost sure was deleted from the server. The old one seems to be back!

The new content was entirely visible on the blog on its original site both before and after this transfer.

I'm very confused. I have a couple of backups that ought to be complete. Here's the address of the site; the only thing changed since the transfer is that one post at the top saying there are technical difficutes:

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not entirely clear what you did -- "backed up the whole thing", "installed wordpress", "installed data" could mean several different things.

    The official documentation is here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_to_a_New_Server
and I've had the most success backing up the wordpress files and database on the old host, and restoring both on the new host WITHOUT installing WordPress on the new host, as restoring does that for you.
