Lost my entire blog (3 posts)

    Have more than one blog: Renmeleon and Beyond Sleep & Dreams. One is for my business, one (the latter) for my writing. I wanted to export my Beyond Sleep blog to import it to Renmeleon. I was using WordPress 2.2. Upgraded to 2.2.1 on Renmeleon then had the import/export option there but only had import on the Beyond Sleep one so I upgraded it to 2.2.1 as well.

    Beyond Sleep & Dreams fell off the planet. Got the Try running install.php message, clicked it, got a blank page. Uploaded and overwrote the files again and, after several tries, FINALLY got the install to work which of course gave me a brand new EMPTY blog.

    My last two weeks has been full of mind-numbing family issues so I KNOW I had to have done something wrong. My question is...

    Is there a way to fix this? Where would I find the backup files for my blog if I actually have them? I am pretty sure I have copies of all my writing and MAYBE the other blog entries from Beyond Sleep but I am pissed at myself for attempting this despite having followed the directions. LOL

    Help?

    Thank you either way for listening...

    :::sigh:::

    Quick!!!! Ask your webhost if they have backup of your site(s) and for which dates.

    Long version, if they didn't backup your site, and you didn't either. You may have a tough road ahead.

    If I understand correctly your personal blog was upgraded to 2.2.1 and didn't work after the upgrade. That seems to happen to some folks. Somehow or somewhy you decided to install it fresh - you probably had to delete that DB to get that far. You really really didn't want to do that.

    If your web host can restore your personal site the way it was before you upgraded, ask them to do so. If not, it's cut and paste from whatever snippets you have.
