Let me add an addendum to the above. When I enter http://riddham.info/wordpress into my browser it displays my posts on the Home page. If I click on the Home page tab it displays my Static page.
If you have a home.php
in your theme folder that could be causing a problem.
Yes I do have a home.php in my theme. Are you suggesting that I remove the home.php???
It’s probably what’s messing you up. Rename it for now.
According to Administration > Settings > Reading
Posts page – Select in the drop-down box the name of the Page that will now contain your Posts. If you do not select a Page here, your Posts will only be accessible via other navigation features such as category, calendar, or archive links. Even if the selected Page is Password protected, visitors will NOT be prompted for a password when viewing the Posts Page. Also, any Template assigned the Page will be ignored and the theme’s index.php (or home.php if it exists) will control the display of the posts.
Thank you so much for including the Posts Page instructions. I double checked my Readings Settings and found I had not selected the Blog page from the drop down menu…I thought I had when I posted my thread…..
thank you!!! i wasted SO much time on this today, appreciate the clear help!
