    updated today to 3.4.1

    problem:
if we use our custom theme, front end content mostly disappears (all except skin & headers), however, the lost front end content reappears when updated theme like ‘Twenty Eleven’ is used…

everything is intact on back end.

How do we get custom theme ‘updated’ ?

That will happen everytime an update occurs.

If you modify the Twenty Eleven theme or any file that ships with WordPress then you will continue to lose every customization you’ve made to those files.

Please create a child theme instead. That way your theme customizations will remain intact.

Try creating a child theme and making your customizations in the new wp-content/themes/twentyeleven-child directory.

My understanding is this custom theme is a child theme….I will toggle back to it so you can see it…

Tried restoring database to 25 HRS prior to update to 3.4.1, to see if custom theme would reappear with rest of ‘missing’ text…however the partial front end visibility has carried over, or carried back, rather… back end still intact

Thank you for looking into this.

    Apparently restore failed.
