    I just wanted to state my unfortunate disappointment with upgrading to Eazyest Gallery. The one feature that led me to use the lazy gallery was the ability to utilize descriptions on folder thumbnails.

    This feature seems to be non-existent in easy gallery. That coupled with an inferior image gallery open view on click, I have to say I am not impressed and have downgraded back to Lazyest Gallery.

  • Eazyest gallery makes it much easier to manage templates.
    You could see if you find something you want to modify in the template files. Copy the theme files from Eazyest Gallery plugin directory to your template directory and feel free to edit the code.

    The wordpress template page calculations are simple –
    The default custom-post-types are: post, page, menu …
    Eazyest Gallery plugin uses galleryfolder for that.

    See archive-galleryfolder, single-galleryfolder.php .. overwrite the [gallery] shortcode to customize the output

    Sorry, but your reply doesn’t seem to answer the missing features I stated. The popup viewer/slideshow in eazyest gallery is inferior to lazyest gallery and the ability to show “folder descriptions” was the whole reason I chose lazyest gallery. Upgrading as recommended removed this functionality completely.

    Since I am quite comfortable at modifying the stripped down css to look how I need it to, having easier to manage templates as a developer; means nothing.

    The folders now are now registered as post types. This means that you can use the_content() function in your templates to get the folder description.

    @mrsreeder,
    I’m sorry you are disappointed about Eazyest Gallery.
    If descriptions on folder thumbnails is the key feature you need, Eazyest Gallery is not the choice for you yet.
    Eazyest Gallery version 0.2 will have this feature.
