• Really struggling here. Upgraded to the latest WP release, and I just added a new item to my menu twice by accident. When I try to remove the duplicate menu item and click the Save Menu button, I am getting a “Network connection was lost” error. I have tried on multiple computers, using multiple browsers…same error.

    Any advice? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Any ideas? Seems to be a Nav_menu.php issue, I’m just not sure how to fix it. :/

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Thank you, esmi!

Forgive my ignorance, as this is VERY new to me. I am learning WordPress and built my site, but trouble-shooting is not my strong point.

I did deactivate all plugins and still had the same error. I also reset the plugins folder with the same result as well. I have tried to switch my theme, however my browser gets “stuck” in a loading state.

By re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders, I assume my content will not be lost, correct?

(Again, sorry, I am very much a newbie. 🙂

Re-upload a fresh copy of Twenty Eleven:

    Correct. That’s in your database.
