I’ve launched 3 sites now that use this plugin and every time I move them from my server to the client’s server I have to add back all the video editor widgets and their content. Everything else is transferring just fine – it’s only happening with this plugin. I use a PHP Script (the one WP recommends) to search and replace the domain in the database prior to launch, so I don’t think it’s due to an error in migrating the site. Any help would be appreciated.

Which PHP script are you using? This one? If yes, which version? Consider that version 3 is still in beta, so I would recommend to go with the previous stable (2.1).
By the way, BSTW widgets data are save in a record in the wp_options table, having option_name = widget_black-studio-tinymce. Are you able to check that string before and after the search&replace?

Yes, that’s the script. I would never use the beta in production. I’m using the stable (2.1) version. I compared the database exports using a diff tool. The data appears to be intact in the version I launched but the sidebars were empty after launch. All other site/plugin data migrated successfully.

Please could you post (better on pastebin) the content of the widget_black-studio-tinymce option record, before and after the replace?

The before version is gone now. I stopped using the plugin since I couldn’t resolve the issue, but thanks for the follow up.

Since there’s no way to do further investigation on this, I will mark this topic as resolved. By the way I still believe that the issue is unrelated to our plugin. I made tens of WP migrations and URL modifications and I never had a single problem on our widgets.

Thanks, Marco. I never said it was the fault of the plugin. I was just trying to resolve it.
